Call for Papers
The MSPSA welcomes paper and panel
proposals from faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students on issues related
to the theme, “Building a Better Future in Mississippi.” In May 2018 the
publication Mississippi Today reported that between 2010-2016 alone the Magnolia State had lost over
35,000 people and that from 2011-2015 the economic impact caused by
outmigration of “brain drain” was a net loss of $1.5 billion for the state. We
seek papers and panels which explore the causes and consequences of this crisis
as well as potential solutions for strengthening and investing in our future in
Mississippi. Papers and panels on any
